The department of pharmaceutical chemistry is one of the important branches in the pharmacy. It is equipped with state of the art facilities to undertake academics in Bachelor of Pharmacy & Diploma in Pharmacy courses. Pharmaceutical Chemistry Labs are well equipped with latest instruments to impart practical training to the students. The department has a Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab I, Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab II and Pharmaceutical Analysis Lab.
Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory-I:
These well furnished laboratories provide facilities for practical training in pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry, synthesis and structural elucidation of medicinally important compounds, practical training is also offered in organic chemistry with well designed experiments. Students familiarized with various organic compounds by their nature, physical and chemical properties and usage in chemical reactions as well as in pharmaceutical industries in this laboratory.
Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory-II:
In this laboratory the experiments based on qualitative and quantitative determination of impurities present in various inorganic compounds. The experiments aimed separation and identification of inorganic and organic mixture are also carried out in this lab. The pharmaceutical chemistry lab-II is well ventilated, exhausted and equipped with various instruments such as magnetic stirrers, refractometer, Deionisation unit, infrared moisture balance, polarimeter, Photo fluorimeter, digital photo colorimeter, distillation unit and hot air oven.
Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory:
This lab is equipped with glassware for pharmaceutical analysis like burette, pipette, volumetric flasks, measuring cylinders, micro pipette etc. This laboratory helps students accounted with the modern methods of analysis and Good Laboratory Practice (GLPs) etc. This lab played a significant role in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of drugs in accordance with various pharmacopoeias methods.
